The Hummingbird Garden is located in downtown Puerto Iguazú. It is a place to relax and admire these wonderful birds, which are native to the Americas.

It all began more than 25 years ago, when Mary, a homemaker, started feeding the hummingbirds that visited her garden. The garden gradually expanded as she added more and more plants and flowers to attract them. Almost without realizing it, she has created a wonderful space.

Hummingbirds and More

You can spot around 10 different species, depending on the time of year. But this place is also visited by more than 100 species of birds that feed on fruits and seeds. And most importantly: they’re all free-roaming! You’ll find benches scattered among the plants and waterers, all within easy reach. You can take the opportunity to enjoy some mate while snapping incredible photos.

El Jardín de los Picaflores invites you to imagine that you can create a space like this in your own home!

Hummingbirds and other birds that visit the area do so out of habit, because they feel safe there, or simply because they’re drawn to the plants and waterers found there. Why not try it at home? You’ll surely find plenty of additional information with Mary or Leandro (her son) that will help you.

They even have a small area where you can buy books, bird guides, bird feeders, and other souvenirs. You’ll find that admission prices are very low. All of this helps keep this wonderful place running.

The garden is open every day of the week, with two different opening hours depending on the time of year. Please contact us!

If you've visited Jardín de los Picaflores, it may have sparked a new passion in you: birds. That's why, together, we can organize an introductory birdwatching excursion. Or if it’s already a hobby of yours, perhaps you’d simply like to go out with an expert guide to see some of the more than 300 species of birds that inhabit Iguazú National Park.
